Hei alle sammen, What would be the Norwegian equivalent of the English expression "to play it by ear"? For example (for eksempel): What are you doing on the weekend? (Hva skal du gjore pa helgen?) Nothing special, I'll just play it by ear. På forhånd takk! Tim. Reply #1 From: Vikingo Date: 18/11/2007-15:44 hi Tim, I'd say "å ta det som det kommer". - Hva skal du gjøre i helgen? - Vet ikke, jeg bare tar det som det kommer. Reply #2 From: Tim Date: 19/11/2007-09:37 Hmmm that's interesting because "jeg bare tar det som det kommer" translates as "I just take it as it comes" which is a perfectly acceptable alternative to "I just play it by ear" in English. Thanks for correcting the preposition in my question too. (I get confused about when to use på and when to use i.) Oh well, "øvelse gjør mester", as you guys say... Tusen takk for hjelpen Vikingo. :-) |
