Hvordan oversetter man verbet "å unne" til engelsk? Forslag? Reply #1 From: Ola R Date: 11/07/2010-13:32 Fra ordboka mi (kunnskapsforlaget): det er Dem vel unt you are quite welcome to it; unne alle mennesker godt wish everybody well; unne seg indulge in (fx. a luxury I sometimes indulge in). Ola Reply #2 From: Ellis Date: 03/09/2010-05:29 Jeg tror det betyr "Treat". Reply #3 From: Sondre Date: 22/09/2010-16:43 Lurt og si setningen du skal bruke ordet i gjør det lettere å se hva som er riktig. ;) Reply #4 From: Lee Date: 17/11/2010-09:40 Both of you could be right. Det kommer an paa kontexten. å unne can mean "to treat" as in the verb. So you could say "Treat everyone well" which is slightly different to "wish everyone well" because it relates more to your behaviour towards other people, whereas the second means simply to wish everyone well, i.e. you hope that they will do well in the future, which is often used when people are saying goodbye and unlikely to see each other for a while or when someone is starting a new venture. However, it can also be used reflexively e.g. "I like to treat myself to one or two luxuries now and again." |
