Kan noen hjelpe meg?

I think you have missed the point I made. - Jeg tror ikke du har sett poenget
mitt.

I stated that both forms of Norwegian are used, albeit with some deviations from
the written standard/s. Of course the written forms are based upon speech of
the time when they were devised/created. What I meant is that everyone speaks
one form or another - either a Bokmål or Nynorsk dialect. Technically, that
statement is incorrect, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. For example,
if what one person speaks adheres more to one form or another. Of course most
people don't speak exactly according to what is devised on the page - that would
sound quite unnatural. On the same token, nobody would write to the foreign
minister in their dialect.

In any case, the dialect I speak is quite out-of-fashion in Norway. When my
great-uncle went to Norway last year a man asked him if he had been living in a
cave for 1000 years. If you like, I can try to compile some info on my dialect.
It comes from my great-grandfather who came to America (from Forsand in
Rogaland) at the turn of the century. The other side of my family came from
Vikeså. Perhaps you are familiar with those areas, since you live in Eigersund

My cousin is a professor at UiB. He told me that most people use their own
dialect, but when they speak to people from other regions of Norway (i.e. Oslo),
they use less dialect and more 'standardised' or 'formal' Norwegian.

Mvh,

Ole
