[Isfløte] |
My family pronounce it 'isfløde', and I found it used in this recipe: STOR RØD FLOTTØR (1) 2 oz Vanilla Schnapps fyll j0rdbær soda Ø 2 øsekar iser fløte (i separat glass) ingen is Ø (uthellingsdrikk over isfløte) and in this text: Om hun fanger De stirre som på hennes isfløte, hun antar at De vil ha et biter. Et par av som oss kan, med driver, over kommer røyke og drikking og malicious sladder - mens en kamp med en eske av isfløte. What is the meaning of this word then? Reply #1 From: Arne Bjermeland (arnenews@yahoo.ca) (www.xanga.com/arnejan) Date: 24/07/2005-11:11 is means ice and fløte means krem, so this compound means the same as ice cream, but the latter is the only one that is used in Norway today. You will see isfløte is referred to in these drink recipes (http://www.brightredlipstick.com/nor/1mdrinks.html), probably because of the liquid form of the ingredient. |
